We provide a full range of retail and commercial financial services to households and businesses. These services are delivered through more than 120 bank branches nationwide, an extensive network of ATMs, a locally based call centre, and a suite of mobile banking applications. We are also the main banker of the New Zealand Government, a relationship we have held since 1989. We are committed to improving the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of all New Zealanders, and endeavour to do so through a variety of initiatives.

We have supported rescue helicopter services for more than 35 years through a variety of sponsorships and also run an annual fundraising drive which is led by staff. In 2019 we became New Zealand’s first bank, and largest corporate organisation at the time, to become an accredited Living Wage Employer. We are also strong advocates on the need for greater gender equality in leadership and the case for taking early action on climate change. In 2020 we became the first Toitū carbonzero certified bank in New Zealand. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of one of Australia’s main banks, Westpac Group, however we operate independently with a local Board of Directors and under different laws and regulations.
