The APEC CEO Summit is the most influential meeting of business and government in the Asia Pacific. The forum provides opportunities for governance, chief executives and world business leaders to engage with each other and with the leaders of the APEC economies on the most pressing issues of the day.
For APEC CEO Summit New Zealand this event will take place virtually.
The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum is an important framework for advancing the prosperity of people and societies in the region. Together, APEC economies achieve this by deepening economic cooperation, improving the environment for trade and investment, ushering inclusive and sustainable growth, and adapting innovative measures.
The APEC CEO Summit provides unmatched potential to build networks, exchange ideas with APEC leaders, and take away relevant business insights.
Programme sessions will focus on solutions to economic challenges and how business and government can work together to achieve APEC’s agenda of inclusive growth, regional cooperation, and integration.
The programme typically features the participation of several presidents and prime ministers of Asia Pacific economies.
Participation in the APEC CEO Summit is by invitation only.
Chairing the 2021 summit is New Zealand businesswoman Barbara Chapman CNZM.
In 2017 Ms Chapman was named The New Zealand Herald’s Business Leader of the Year and in 2018 was named as the inaugural INFINZ Diversity and Inclusion Leader. She is a chartered member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
Ms Chapman was awarded a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in 2019 for services to business.
