These rangatahi will experience the online Voices of the Future 2021 Conference during Leaders Week from 8 to 13 November 2021, in Tāmaki Makaurau [Auckland], and attend the CEO Summit 2021 from 10 to 11 November 2021, virtually.
Te Rangitūkupu is committed to providing increased opportunities for meaningful rangatahi Māori engagement in APEC 2021. They wish to acknowledge the many whānau, hapū, marae, and iwi the rangatahi belong to for the role they have played in their growth, and for their continued commitment to developing future leaders.
All applications demonstrated promise and passion, and Te Rangitūkupu looks forward to the huge potential of the next wave of Māori leaders.

The voice of youth is the voice of leadership in the future
About Voices of the Future 2021
The Asia-Pacific region has nearly one billion young people that stand in the face of an uncertain future. The effects of the pandemic have disproportionately impacted young people globally, including missed education, training and employment opportunities.
COVID-19 has forced the globe into an economic reset. We now have the opportunity to grow our economies differently – making them more inclusive, resilient and sustainable.
It is clear that this year’s youth event is set against a unique backdrop – with the region staring down the devastating effects of COVID-19 and setting a plan for the next two decades. The work APEC is doing this year is both immediate and inter-generational, with the stakes higher than ever.
New Zealand’s hosting of APEC Voices of the Future 2021 aims to be the most open and inclusive in the event’s 23-year history. Young people will have the opportunity to hear and learn from experts and peers around the region, while also putting their unique perspective in front of APEC Leaders.
About CEO Summit 2021
The APEC CEO Summit is the most influential meeting of business and government in the Asia Pacific. The forum provides opportunities for governance, chief executives and world business leaders to engage with each other and with the leaders of the APEC economies. Each year, the CEO Summit draws the region’s business leaders, intellectuals, and media personalities for interactive discussions with APEC Leaders on key trade and economic issues facing the Asia-Pacific.
